Éric Falardeau est professeur au Département de littérature, théâtre et cinéma de l’Université Laval. Ses recherches actuelles portent sur les nouvelles technologies, le cinéma pornographique, le cinéma d’horreur et les effets spéciaux. Il a réalisé plusieurs films dont les longs métrages de fiction Thanatomorphose (2012) et The Thing from the Lake (2019) ainsi que l’essai documentaire Un carnet abitibien (post-production). Il est l’auteur de Bleu nuit, histoire d’une cinéphilie nocturne (co-dirigé avec Simon Laperrière, Somme Toute, 2014), Une histoire des effets spéciaux au Québec (Somme Toute, 2017) et Le corps souillé : gore, porno et fluides corporels (L’Instant même, 2019). Éric a une présence télévisuelle régulière au Québec. Il a été invité à plusieurs émissions (Les Francs-Tireurs, Zone Franche, Banc Public) et a participé à des reportages et entrevues au Téléjournal 18h. Il est également intervenu dans des magazines télévisés spécialisés comme Sexplora (ICI Explora).

His current research focuses on new technologies, pornographic cinema, horror films, and special effects.
